The Massage That Made Me Sick

Release stress

A wonderful full-body massage

Aromatherapy

And, I have been so sick I didn’t want to go out in public.

The next day, I felt like someone beat me with a club, the whole night club.

All weekend long, I have been super sick and got a horrid fever blister on my bottom lip.

Then, I found this:

“It may be what Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) refers to as a “Healing Crisis”. Circulatory massage, such as Swedish Massage, helps to promote blood flow and remove toxins from the body. TCM would say that the symptoms you are feeling may be a manifestation of all of those toxins leaving your body. Some people even come down with cold-like symptoms in the day or two following a massage.”

“Important things to remember about getting a massage – Make sure you’ve eaten a healthy meal, though not directly before your treatment. Try to avoid caffeine. Take a moment for yourself after the session and sit up slowly. Drink plenty of water after your treatment to help flush out toxins. And always feel comfortable talking to your therapist if have any health conditions or concerns about the massage.”

Now, I know.
